Sean is the Founder and CIO of Avory, where he leads investment strategy across public and private markets. His focus is on conviction-led portfolios built on data-driven research and durable business models. Sean worked previously as an analyst for Stetson University endowment, analyst at hedge fund KCM Asset Management, analyst and Director of Research at GFG Capital. Sean has been featured at top 50 accounts to follow on X, along with regularly aired on Bloomberg TV (Dubai). Sean attended Stetson University, pre-MBA program at Yale, and is host of Avory Around the Desk Podcast.
Luis Alvarez

Luis is the Co-founder of Avory & Co and serves as Managing Principal and Investment Committee Member, bringing nearly three decades of experience in asset management and banking. Previously, he was Senior Managing Partner at GBS Finance, where he expanded the firm into a $2 billion multi-family office. Earlier in his career, Luis spent 14 years at Deutsche Bank, serving in a range of leadership roles. Luis holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. from Princeton University.
Houston Hess
Director
Houston is the Managing Director and Head of Operations at Avory, overseeing execution and corporate operations. Before Avory, he spent nearly a decade in treasury and banking roles at Deutsche Bank and Bank of America. Houston holds a degree in International Business and Spanish from the University of South Florida.
